This longline coatigan is knitted in a soft rib that runs continuously from a wide shawl collar all the way along the open front to the hem, so there is no break in the texture from neck to knee. The batwing sleeve is cut generously through the upper arm and narrows into a close ribbed cuff at the wrist, giving the piece a cocoon like shape that rounds gently through the body. With no buttons or fastenings, it is designed to be worn open, layered over a jumper or top and simply wrapped or held closed by hand when needed. The hem falls at a mid length, past the hip and towards the knee, in a plain unribbed finish that lets the coatigan sit softly rather than stiffly. Warm, soft to the touch and easy to throw on, it is a practical layer for cooler autumn days.
