A cardigan knitted in an open net stitch, where the loops are held wide apart so the fabric reads as a grid and light passes straight through it. The body is long and loose, dropping well below the hip with no shaping through the waist, and the stitch stays even from the shoulder to the hem so the grid never bunches. Dark buttons run along the front placket in a close line and repeat in a short row at each cuff, standing out sharply against the pale knit. The edges of the placket, neckline and hem are worked in a plain flat stitch so there is a solid border holding the open panels in shape.
