A light cardigan knitted at a fine gauge, so the fabric stays thin enough to layer under a jacket without adding bulk. Rows of tiny open stitches run diagonally across the body and sleeves, forming narrow stripes of pinholes that let a little light through and break up the plain ground. The neckline is a plain round, sitting close to the base of the neck and finished with a flat knitted edge, and the front fastens with small gold tone buttons spaced evenly up a narrow placket. The cuffs and hem are worked in a fine rib that keeps the light knit from curling, and the sleeves are long and straight.
