A cardigan knitted with a full argyle panel across the front, the diamonds set in staggered rows and outlined by fine cross lines that run corner to corner. Three contrast tones work over a deeper ground, so the diamonds alternate as they travel across the body and the pattern stays lively rather than repeating flat. The back and sleeves are left plain, which keeps the front as the focus. The neckline drops into a deep V that follows the button placket, and the collar band, placket, cuffs and hem are all worked in a close rib that holds the jacquard panel flat and stops the diamonds pulling out of shape.
