A knitted cardigan worked all over in an argyle pattern, with large diamonds running in rows across the body and sleeves and fine cross lines tracing through them. The pattern is kept to two close tones so the diamonds read as texture as much as colour, one shade forming the ground and the other picking out the lattice. The neckline drops into a deep V that follows the button placket, and the placket itself runs the full length of the body with plain flat buttons spaced evenly along it. The collar, placket, cuffs and hem are worked in a 2x2 rib that pulls the edges in and stops the diamond panels from stretching out of line.
