A fine gauge cardigan knitted in a plain stitch that stays smooth and even across the body, with no pattern to break the surface. Every edge is picked out in a contrasting shade: a narrow band frames the neckline, the full length front placket is worked in the same contrast tone on both sides, and the cuffs and hem repeat it in a close rib. The effect outlines the whole shape of the cardigan and makes the buttons, set in a single row up the placket, read clearly against the trim. The body is cut straight with a little ease through the waist and the sleeves are long and lightly tapered.
