This short coat is cut from a smooth, firm felted fabric and closes with four buttons set on a diagonal line rather than straight along the centre front, giving the closure an asymmetric look. The collar is wide and notched, also sitting slightly off-centre to follow the line of the buttons, and the shoulder is cut with a slight drop for a relaxed line into the sleeve. Two welt pockets sit low on either side of the body, set flush against the fabric, and the sleeve runs long and clean to the wrist. The firm, smooth finish of the fabric holds its shape well, giving the coat a slightly structured feel despite the softer, dropped shoulder line running through it.
